Hamburger Pie
Everyone has a weird thing that grosses them out. For me it is mashed potatoes, biscuit or cornbread serving as a top layer of a casserole. I just find it disgusting. I don't know why.
This recipe features Potato Buds instant puffs. The oozy yellow stuff on top is shredded Sharp cheddar cheese according to the card.
Seeing this on a plate adds to the despair of a family trying to keep up appearances. Outwardly they look normal and happy but each of their souls is dying. Their souls probably look like this slice of Hamburger Pie.
If I was a better writer I could really make the metaphor work.
